The Best Electric Trike for Hunting

Three situations where you only want Rungu Dualie

E-bikes are fantastic transport/scouting vehicles for hunting. Besides not spooking game, e-bikes offer faster scouting like using a quad ATV, without the problems of owning and using an ATV: E-bikes minimize ground scent and can go (where legal) beyond gates where ATVs are off-limits. What’s more, the higher end e-bikes have enough horsepower to haul gear and game on a cargo rack or a trailer.

Rungu Dualie™is the world’s only double wheel e-bike designed and built for off-road use. At first glance the Rungu Dualie e-bike is radically different. It has two front wheels that are positioned nine inches apart. This Double Wheel design is revolutionary and offers unmatched stability to off-road, all-terrain riders. Three Wheel Hunting Bike maneuvers like a bike but offers the stability of a quad ATV. It also effectively eliminates the digger problem (washouts and wipeouts) with hunting (and all other) fat-tire, single-front-wheel e-bikes.

Conventional e-bikes fall down where Rungu Dualie keeps you riding up. Here are three situations where Rungu outperforms conventional e-bikes.

Watch this30-second video to learn more about Rungu Dualie.

1. The steep, backcountry descent.

You’re riding back down the mountain on a logging trail. It has been raining for a few hours. The ground is a mix of mud and loose rock. You get to a section that’s too steep to walk. A conventional fat-tire e-bike has a short wheelbase, so without downhill mountain biking skills, you’re liable to go head over handlebars. On loose ground, one front tire will washout and you’re likely to be on the ground, sliding the rest of the way down the hill.

Rungu®Dualie’s™ Double Wheel Design and “Total Control” wheelbase get you down steep backcountry descents safely. Rungu®Dualie’s™ Double Wheel Design, two front wheels spaced 9 inches apart, makes riding much safer than on a conventional e-bike. The double wheels virtually eliminate the washouts and over-the-bar wipeouts that are all too common with conventional fat-tire e-bikes.

With two front wheels spaced apart, you have far more tire surface on the ground when turning avoiding wipeouts because the two wheels track turns more effectively. The extra-long wheelbase on a Rungu® e-bike (the front of the frame is extended so the dual wheels clear the rider’s feet while turning) is especially important downhill.

It puts your weight further back from the handlebars than conventional e-bikes. The “Total control” wheelbase prevents over-the-handlebars wipeouts on grades where these wipeouts are inevitable for conventional fat-tire e-bikes.

Pay attention to the last part of this partner video to see how Rungu performs on steep backcountry descents in the Colorado Rockies.

2. The steep uphill section.

Backcountry and OHV trails can have sections that can exceed 40% grade. On a conventional e-bike you’ll find yourself tipping over backwards and losing control of the front wheel trying to climb these sections. With a conventional e-bike, you have a choice – park the bike and continue on foot, or push the bike up the hill with an assist from the throttle (Yeah, but then you have to ride down, too – see above).

Because the center of gravity on a Rungu® Dualie is much further forward than on other e-bikes, you’ll be able to climb much steeper hills without getting out of the saddle. In fact, on a Rungu®, you’ll be able to climb a 40 percent grade while on other e-bikes, you’ll lose front wheel traction at around 20 percent. That’s double the grade - a huge climb-ability advantage for Rungu®.

Watch this video compare Rungu Dualie to a conventional fat-tire ebike on grades of 20% and above.

3. The fresh snowfall.

You’re out on a hunt and the weather changes, dumping six inches on your outbound trail. On a conventional fat-tire e-bike you’ll manage a nerve-wracking ride back so long as the trail is straight and flat. Try turning and you’re liable to wash out and fall off the bike. Good thing snow is soft.

Do you want to know how much Rungu bikes costs?

Perhaps the most significant advantage of a Rungu® Dualie™ e-bike is its ability to go where other e-bikes cannot. This means soft sand, deep snow (up to 9 inches or more), through mud, over rocks, over logs and more. With a Rungu® Dualie™, you can expect to navigate the new snowfall safely back to base.

What to know how Rungu Dualie performs in deep snow?

Rungu Dualie Electric Bikes offer something that conventional fat-tire e-bikes do not – safer travel on all-terrain like what you expect from an ATV. Rungu Dualie e-bikes are far more stable, far more able.
