QuietKat 2020 Jeep Electric Hunting Bike Review

Searching for high-quality fat tire electric hunting bikes, can be time-consuming. There are many different options out there and there isa lot to consider before investing. With many options that range in price and quality, you must do your research before purchasing.

We will be reviewing some of the key features of the QuietKat 2020 Jeep Electric Hunting Bike and providing a detailed review to help you in choosing the right electric hunting bike that suits your needs.

To give you some background, Colorado-based e-bike brand QuietKat teamed up with Jeep to announce the launch of this e-bike in January 2020, and it has been on the market since June. Right away it created a lot of buzz. QuietKat ebikes brand is well respected in the industry and this electric bike was designed specifically for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts who want to be able to move around quickly yet relatively quietly over dynamic and challenging terrains.

For hunters who have never used an electric bike, I was convinced to buy one when I found out that the trace of smells you leave behind is reduced when you move on a bike rather than on foot – pretty interesting. Since my first purchase, I have tried many different electric bikes that range quite a bit in quality and design.

The QuietKat 2020 Jeep Electric Hunting Bike is a great option for anyone in the market that needs a stealth way to get to and from hunting locations. If you are looking for an e-bike with all the bells and whistles, this is a good choice. I had a great experience with this bike and would recommend it to others.

Features

This bike is what I would consider ‘fully-loaded’. By that, I mean every detail has been incorporated into the design, and it has everything you need in an electric hunting bike. There isn’t much they haven’t thought of.

Some of the key features include:

  • Full suspension: the bike is a full suspension electric mountain bike that makes it comfortable for all types of terrain. The bike has what is called a “fire-link suspension system” which provides excellent traction and capability.
  •  4 piston hydraulic disc brakes: this braking system allows you to keep full control of the bike. This is incredibly important when navigating more challenging routes.
  •  26″x 4.8″ fat-tire platform: the fat-tire platform is fantastic for all terrains and makes difficult routes feel more comfortable. I had the opportunity to test it on both snow and soft sand and was very impressed with the traction and ability to handle the rough terrain. The bike was designed for all terrains including hardpack trails and rocks and that was very evident to me.
  • 30-60-mile battery range: more than enough battery range to get where you need to go. The lithium batter can recharge from empty in 6 hours.
  • 10 gear system
  • Weight: 79lbs
  • Motor / Class: 750W (Class 2)
  • Load capacity: 300 lbs
  • Color: decorated Jeep
  • Sizes: 17” S/M, 19” M/L

Build Quality

The bike feels incredibly solid and well-built. The weight of the bike is is 79 lbs and you feel supported so you can comfortably bike long distances and through challenging terrain. The load capacity is 300lbs which is above average for bikes in this category. This electrical bike is designed to last and because of that, I felt the higher price tag was worth it. From my perspective, I would rather invest more to start, but get a bike that is going to last and withhold the wear and tear of an avid hunter.

Design

The 26″x 4.8″ Fat-Tire platform sets this bike apart from others and is a stand-out feature. The design makes sense for anyone who needs a bike to handle all types of terrain from soft sand to snow and hardpack trails.

The bike is designed as a 10-speed suspension bike, with an air suspension fork up front and a RockShox Monarch RL rear shock. It is also equipped with four-piston hydraulic disc brakes. These design aspects come together to give a sturdy bike that holds up its claim of handling even theroughest terrain.

It is well-designed and offered in 17- and 19-inch frames with an adjustable seat, which provides added flexibility for riders. All the pieces came together perfectly for this bike from a design perspective – power, durability, and a top-tier suspension make this a great fit for anyone looking for a high-quality e-bike that works well under almost every condition.

Power

The bike comes with an impressive 750W motor and is listed as a class 2 e-bike. This motor gives a maximum speed of 20mph so it will be able to get you where you need to go quickly and quietly. The 10-speed drivetrain provides plenty of power to climb most hills with ease. The lithium battery charger is powerful and can recharge an empty battery in only 6 hours.

Weight

The total weight as mentioned is 79 lbs and can withstand a 300lb load. For most, this is more than sufficient to carry heavy gear through the terrain comfortably without overloading. Too heavy and the e-bike becomes burdensome so I think this is a great middle line that will fit most.

Functionality and Control

The functionality of the jeep ebike is achieved through the design features that come together seamlessly. Firstly, the fire-Link suspension system is a true four-bar linkage and comes with 4 piston hydraulic disc brakes; these features give you full control and provides the necessary traction and capability. I found no room for improvement in the areas of function and control. I was able to get through the most challenging terrains that previously, was too rocky for other e-bikes to handle safely.

Price

With a price tag of just under $6,000 the QuietKat 2020 Jeep Electric Bike is priced right. It is definitely not a ‘cheap’ option, but with the design, features and brand reputation of QuietKat and Jeep I wouldn’t expect it to be. The price reflects the quality.

Conclusion: Should You Buy the QuietKat 2020 Jeep Electrical Bike?

If you’re an avid hunter and looking to invest in a high-quality electrical bike that performs well, will withstand wear and tear, and provide enough power and suspension to take you through challenging terrains, then this is a great choice. I found this bike to be comfortable, well-designed, and provided enough power and control for hills and rough terrain. The brand partnership between QuietKat bikes and Jeep makes sense, and they executed it well.

The jeep bike is well-priced. Despite being more expensive than some of the others on the market, the pricing model makes sense and is an investment that I would be willing to pay again. It is durable and made well so I have no doubts it will stand the test of time. Even still, QuietKat includes a lifetime warranty against defective workmanship for the frame., while all other components have a one-year warranty. This gives an added sense of security when making this type of purchase.

All in all, I would absolutely recommend this bike to hunters, adventurers, or even backcountry campers looking to invest in a high-quality, sturdy e-bike.

Combining two renowned American brands such as QuietKat bikes and Jeep made for a proven product that functions well and competes in a competitive electrical bike market. QuietKat and Jeep are a match made in heaven. The collaboration of these two brands was well thought out. Both brands are deep rooted in adventure and nature and off-road capabilities are king when it comes to their designs and it shows.
