Killer Instinct Crossbows

Killer Instinct Crossbows

Since their invention in ancient times back in China, Crossbows have come a long way and in the modern world, Killer Instinct Crossbows are the one of the leaders of the crossbow world. They are a young company but through sheer determination and new technology along with the build quality of the crossbows, they have created the perfect line up for archery.

Killer Instinct Crossbows - What's So Special?

Killer Instinct Crossbows was founded in 2013 and though that was not too long ago, they have already made their mark in the industry. Killer Instinct Crossbows are an American brand based in Frankenmuth, Michigan, and they make crossbows with accessories such as bolts, optics, slings, cases, and more.

Killer Instinct crossbows have gained huge popularity among hunters and Crossbow enthusiasts, mainly because of their product quality and the price point. The company is owned by HAWK Group and all the hunters out there might find this name familiar. It is because HAWK makes a lot of hunting equipment, such as tree stands and more.

Killer Instinct has always been honest about the manufacturing -and because some of their products imported rather than made on US soil, they can offer really competitive prices for the crossbows.

Not only do they make good quality killer crossbows and accessories for hunting, but they also provide a lifetime of free inspection and a limited lifetime warranty. What this limited lifetime warranty means is that during the manufacturing lifetime of any crossbow they make, if there are any manufacturing issues and any fault on parts that did not happen due to regular use and wear, they will inspect and change the damaged parts. They have an excellent online registration system where the owner can register within 30 days of purchasing and enjoy a lifetime warranty of the product.

Killer Instinct Crossbows - What about the Hunters?

Hunting is a passion and not everyone takes it completely seriously. Whether you are an occasional hunter, or hunting is the only thing that brings some joy in your life, Killer instinct crossbows got you covered.

Killer Instinct Crossbows have a long-range of products on various price points. They have their product line up starting as low as below $300 and up to over $900 for more professional models.

The killer instinct crossbow which costs less than $300, or is around that price point is a great starting point for someone who just wants to learn archery or just wants to have fun with some targets in the backyard.

The mid-range crossbows like Killer Instinct Ripper 415 meet the sweet spot of having a high amount of features and accurate optics and also not putting too much pressure on the pocket. This is one of the most popular models in the entire line up, and the reason for its popularity is that it’s the perfect middle ground between entry-level crossbow to professional archery.

There are some more products around the price of Killer Instinct Ripper 415, like Boss 405 and others. The top of the line is the Swat XP, used only by the professionals in the most extreme conditions, and on the toughest games.

Killer Instinct Boss 405

This crossbow has its biggest feature in its name. It has the ability to shoot at 405 feet per second and that is a really impressive speed for a crossbow that costs only over $300. It weighs 6.7 pounds and had a draw weight of 220-LB which on paper may seem like a lot, but is not much compared to the other options at this price point.

It has a length of maximum 36", which means it takes less space while traveling, and combining with the weight means that it will be easy for the hunter to carry on the trail or on a game.

It's the length of 35" when cocked and 36.5 inches while uncocked gives it a relatively bigger form factor than other options like SWAT 408 and similar models. It is still relatively small and compact and has the ability to be used in closed spaces or narrow areas.

The model comes with an included with a scope that works well. This Lumix 4X32 scope performs well and it has an illuminated reticle along with adjustable brightness control.

It has a fully adjustable stock just like an AR and gives similar vibes while aiming, or shooting. The user can adjust it like almost over an inch for his personal preference and comfort. The crossbow also has a well-designed forearm grip, along with custom-designed rubber shock absorbers to absorb some of the force while uncocking the bolt, and there are string silencers. The trigger is well designed and is really comfortable to pull.

The main feature of any crossbow is of course not how well they are designed or how aggressive they look, but how fast it can shoot a bolt to the target. Depending on external factors, the Killer Instinct Ripper 415 can get to a speed high as 415 feet per second. This makes it the fastest crossbow in sub $400 budget, and also this can knock down even the biggest and heaviest of game.

All the Killer Instinct Crossbows use their own patented technology which gives them the fast speed, so much more than their rival models and brands. Killer Instinct Ripper 415 takes this technology and pushes it all the way up to 415 feet per second. This level of speed makes it a perfect crossbow for both expert hunting and and the beginner.

One thing that the killer instinct ripper 415 has is the draw weight, which is at 200 pounds. Yes, it is not relatively light when it comes to drawing weight and this may be an issue for the beginners. The standard package of killer instinct ripper 415 comes with a rope cocking device as a standard inclusion. What it does, it reduces the draw weight in half, to 100 pounds, so the effort required to reload is cut half and made easy.

Killer Instinct includes three pieces of their 20-inch Killertech Pro Carbon Crossbow Bolts with this package and these are one of the most premium 20-inch bolts from the brand. There are several other options out there that fit the Ripper 415, but these 20 inches Killertech Pro Carbon Crossbow Bolts performs the most accurately.

This crossbow is the perfect midfield or mid-level crossbow for entry, intermediate and expert hunters. Killer Instinct SWAT XP

Killer Instinct Crossbows has perfect entry-level and mid-level options, but one of the biggest reason the top hunters love hunting with their crossbows is that their top of the line, or flagship models, like the Killer Instinct SWAT XP.

Killer Instinct SWAT XP is a top-end crossbow that is ultra-compact and can reach a top speed of hitting as high as 415 feet per second. While the top speed number matches with the mid-level options from the brand, there are so many other things in a crossbow other than sheer speed. Those are the fields the SWAT XP stands out as the leader.

Killer Instincts have a long history of researching and developing their product, and the Killer Instinct SWAT XP has been in development trajectory since the company was born. After years of research, the company created the ultimate crossbow for hunting. This has the latest advancements with the precise shooting with a broadhead bolt.

The first thing that catches the eye about the Killer Instinct SWAT XP is the length of the crossbow. It has a length of 27 inches only, which makes it the shortest in the line up. It had a cocked width of 9.125 inches and an uncocked width of 14.125 inches. The overall weight it has is 7.2 pounds.

The size plays one of the key factors behind its popularity and the killer hunting aesthetic. Its true timber strata camo gives it a distinctive look and a good first impression.

At first glance anyone will know that this is not an ordinary crossbow made for occasional hunters or curious people, this is designed by hunters and researchers combined. It can meet with any need of the user and can face any challenge, whether it is about durability or precision.

Another thing that struck the audience is that everything is designed to be at the center of the crossbow and this not only helps with balance but also gives an interesting look.

SWAT XP has an enclosed rail and there is an extreme rear latching mechanism that lowers the standard draw weight, which is almost 200 pounds. Also, this is what makes the high energy power stroke possible. There are also some dampening systems in the crossbow and some anti-vibration tabs to reduce vibration.

There are string dampeners, dual mount string recoil suppressors system, rubberized anti-vibration stirrup, and all this is to dampen the recoil and the vibration when the trigger is pressed and the bolt shoots up to the target.

Despite being small in form factor, SWAT XP has the highest speed and power among all killer instinct crossbows. It has a speed of 415 feet per second along with kinetic energy which converts to 153 FT-LB of knockdown power. It uses broadhead arrows which in archery does the most amount of damage. Though its bolts are 22 inches long, they are made from carbon spine and weigh only 400 grains.

All killer instinct crossbows come with an optic standard with the package and the SWAT XP comes with Lumix Speed Ring 1.5-5 x 32 IR-E Scope. This is really high quality and easy to use a scope. It can be quickly matched to any shooting speed between 270 feet per second to 450 feet per second. The scope has Killzone XB100 Reticle, which is optimized for fast targets and precise for long-range targets with completely accurate for up to 100 yards.

The DSC - Dead Silent Crank makes the cocking dead quiet, and it also has a de-cokable brake. The crank handle can be equipped on any side of the cocker to ensure the convenience of any left or right-handed shooter.

The trigger on SWAT XP has a smooth pull with zero creeps. The crossbow is balanced in the center therefore it has great in balance. With the help of the included scope's reticle, it is deadly accurate up to 100 yards. Also the string free floats between the two barres, therefore increasing the lifetime of the string.

At a price point of below a thousand dollars, there are really very few to no other crossbow which can match and compete with the Killer Instinct SWAT XP in terms of size, power, features, and accuracy.

    • Very well balanced
    • Compact size
    • Highly accurate
    • 415 feet per second shooting speed
    • Lightweight
